EP Luminaire Competition

EP Luminaire Design Challenge Competition Summary

The IES Halifax Section is hosting its second IES EP Event at the 2019 Maritime Conference. This luminaire design competition provides an opportunity for Emerging Professionals (5 years or less in the lighting industry) and post-secondary students to engage with mentors and peers to develop and create innovative fixture design solutions in a one-day workshop.

Design and build a luminaire using a collection of arbitrary materials provided by IES. Groups will design and develop light fixtures during an 8-hour workshop, with mentors providing assistance if needed in the design/construction phase, and actively assisting with testing of fixtures. Each team will present the fixture they have built for judging and prizes will be awarded to the top teams.
